3 Peaks Challenge – Mission Accomplished!
Congratulations to three ambassadors of INSAAN – Zubair Rafiq, Amer Sheikh and Waqas Rehman – on achieving an incredible mission!
Our intrepid band of middle aged (just) adventurers attempted the UK Three Peaks Challenge over a 3-day period from 7th-9th September 2019.
They conquered Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden over the 3 days – the UK’s highest mountains and raised a staggering £5600 collective for INSAAN.
Here is a short report from Waqas:
“Ben Nevis in Scotland was a hard slog after a 10 hour drive. Scafell Pike in the Lake District was double as hard – we made a costly and painful mistake yesterday by climbing the wrong mountain! We were 340m up and had gone 4Km before realising the mistake. And for Snowden in Wales, we had heavy rain and strong wind. But thankfully no injuries to anybody despite the rocks being like ice when wet.
Thank you all for your kind donations, I’m very grateful. All expenses including travel were paid for by ourselves so that your donations go straight to charity.
As a group we have raised just over £5000 for INSAAN Charity who support young people with disabilities as well as their families. INSAAN is based in Berkshire and I’m sure the money will be well received.”
We are really grateful! Here are some highlights of the trio.
